GOVERNOR SOLUDO INAUGURATES THE GOVERNING COUNCIL OF CHUKWUEMEKAODUMEGWU OJUKWUUNIVERSITY, ULI

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has inaugurated the newly constituted Governing Council of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli, Ihiala Local Government Area.
On the occasion held at Government House, Awka , Governor Soludo tasked the council with the repositioning COOU as a leading center of learning in Nigeria.
The Governor who stressed that his administration remains committed to education reforms said he expects the new council to work with the management to strengthen academic excellence, research and innovation.
He expressed confidence that the council, under Prof. Peter Onwualu as Chairman and Pro-Chancellor, would function effectively and drive the university’s growth.
The Governing Council members comprised seasoned academics, professionals, and community leaders including Professor Peter Onwualu who is the Chairman of the Governing Council, Pro -Chancellor, Professor Kate Omenugha , Professor A.C. Nweke, and Professor Obiora Ejiofor .
Others include His Royal Highness Igwe Chris Chidiume, Professor Josephat Ogbuagu, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi, Retired AIG Chris Ezike, Professor Sylvia Okonkwo, Professor Matthias Ananti, Professor Ogonna Ifebi, Professor Nkeiruka Orji, Professor Mary-Jude Igbodike, Doctor Chukwunonso Ekesiobi, and Sir Chris Obi.
In a remark, the council Chairman Professor Peter Onwualu, thanked the governor for the appointment and pledged to position COOU among Nigeria’s top universities through academic excellence.
Correspondent Ben Ilechukwu reports that highlight of the event was donation of two brand new 18-seater buses to the University by the Governor.
