Abia State government has been encouraged to develop its manufacturing clusters and products into strong indigenous brands for the global market.
The Director of World Trade Organisation WTO.Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala gave the advice virtually during a Lecture organised to mark the 35 anniversary of the creation of Abia State.
She said that Aba could be positioned into a major production and trade hub by improving infrastructure and attracting real investment.
Dr Okonjo Iweala identified Ariaria International Market Aba and the Leather Cluster business in the State as strong testimonies of the commercial and production capacities that could be galvanised to launch the Abia State into global economic competition.
