Today is Children’s day. A special occasion dedicated every 27th May to honour the joy and rights of childhood.
It is a day to remember the importance of nurturing, educating and protecting the young ones while also reminding adults of their childhood memories.
The day is officially mapped out as a day off for primary and secondary pupils for special activities.
It is also a reminder of every child right to education, good health safety and chance to thrive.
In Nsukka, the celebration varies but often include match pasts, funfair and school outing.
Speaking with some Pupils in Nsukka metropolis on how they plan to celebrate the day, some
of them while expressing joy for the holiday said their parents plan to take them out while some said they will stay at home to help their parents.

Another student who attends private secondary School said he will not feel the impact of Children’s day because there is is no holiday in their school.
