The Electoral Officer of Independent National Electoral Commission Igbo-Eze North Mr Nwachukwu Anyalebechi says all the electoral materials were successfully moved to the polling units across all the voting centers in the area.
Speaking earlier at the INEC headquarters Igbo-Eze North, Mr Anyalebechi stated that the distribution of the electoral materials was faster due to the assistance of two supporting electoral officers sent to assist in other to make sure that materials get to the voting centers on time.
Mr Anyalebechi charged the presiding officers to discharge their duties effectively, stressing that all the electoral materials got to them on time. He added that all the necessary arrangements has been put in place to ensure a free, fair and credible elections in the area.
He further commended the security agencies for their commitment in assisting the INEC in the area to deliver on their mandate.
At about 9am and 10am in the morning to 1pm and 2pm in the afternoon, during the election monitoring at some of the voting centers in Igbo-Eze North, it was observed that the turnout of the electorates has improved though they lamented the delay in accreditation which they siad was from the bivers.
Two of the electorates Mr Anselem Mama of the Oretere voting center Aji and Mr. Simon Edoga of CPS Ufodo voting center commended the INEC for the early arrival of the electorial materials which they said has reduced them the time of waiting for materials which often comes late and urged the INEC to solve the problem of bivers as may of them were manually accredited due to malfunctioning of the bivers machine.
However in an interview, two of the electorates, Lolo Eze Maria of CPS Umuogbo Ulo voting center one and Mr Apeh Kennedy of Umuopu expressed joy that the voting was going on smoothly and urged the people to come out and exercise thier franchise.
