The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Igbo Eze South State Constituency, Dr. Okechukwu Agbaji, has assured the people of the constituency of better representation if elected in the forthcoming general election.
Dr. Agbaji gave the assurance while appearing on Voice Connect, a Radio Nigeria Voice FM Nsukka audience-participatory programme.
The candidate, who is also a medical doctor, said this is his first attempt at contesting for a political office, adding that his decision to join the race was driven by his passion and desire to bring positive changes to the constituency.
According to him, every political position comes with specific duties and responsibilities, and he would ensure that government projects and other developmental initiatives are attracted to the constituency if elected.
Dr. Agbaji also promised to remain accessible to his constituents, saying he would establish a constituency office where he could regularly interact with the people and address their concerns.
Callers who participated in the programme wished Dr. Agbaji well in his political ambition. However, some expressed concern over the tendency of politicians to make numerous promises during election campaigns without fulfilling them after assuming office.
They urged political candidates to ensure that their campaign promises translate into tangible development for the people if elected.
